Northeastern University’s Center for STEM Education is offering various science, technology, engineering and math opportunities to high school students. Pathways to STEM (P2STEM) is an after school program geared towards high school students interested in STEM. Students will be exploring diverse career pathways through research presentations. Virtual Pandemic Safe Kids Weekend Academy
K - 3rd Grade
The Virtual Pandemic Safe Kids Weekend Academy is a Bethel STEAM class delivered via Zoom to expose students to the topic of keeping safe during the current pandemic. Students will receive materials for the class in advance so they can complete experiments and other activities during the Zoom session. During the class, students will receive instruction on proper handwashing and how to properly wear a mask.
Virtual Little Dentist Weekend Academy
K - 3rd Grade
The Virtual Little Dentistry Weekend Academy is a Bethel STEAM class delivered via Zoom to expose students to the topic of dentistry. Students will receive materials for the class in advance so they can complete experiments and other activities during Zoom sessions. During this class students will learn about teeth and what needs to be done to keep teeth healthy. They will receive instruction on teeth, conduct teeth related experiments, build models of teeth.
Electrical Engineering Spring Break Camp
4th - 7th Grade
The Virtual Electrical Engineering Mid Winter Break program is a class delivered via Zoom to expose students to the field of electrical engineering. Students will receive materials for the class in advance so they can complete experiments and activities during Zoom sessions. During this class, students will build different types of circuits and create a circuit structure. They may have a Zoom conference with an electrical engineer to ask deeper questions about circuits and the career path of an electrical engineer.
